BUT WHO IS PROFESSOR SALEM KABIEN?

Master Artist.

 ARTIST SALEM KABIEN

( Excerpt from the VEJA International Review of Brazil )

Professor Salem Kabien is an artist with remarkable creativity, he has more than one string to his bow since he is a professor of art history, businessman, international communications consultant (on Power of Creative Intelligence in Life and Business), the artist Kabien is also a journalist, cartoonist, illustrator, screenwriter and author. As a multidisciplinary visual artist, he is a member of the International Association of Plastic Arts (with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. UNESCO) and a member of RAAV (Regroupement des Artistes en Art Visuels du Québec).

Kabien is the holder of several international awards and merits. His works are part of the permanent collections of the governments of Brazil, Angola, Congo, Zambia, the United States, South Africa, Great Britain, Madagascar and Canada etc. And several Belgian, French and American collectors have his works.

His inspiration is in step with the impulse of the aspirations and sensations of his life. It is through his creative and eventful existence that he has determined this or that emotion to express. His corporate paintings, which are usually the reflex of an image in a broken window, are painted in the plastic language of classical surrealism associated with the abstract which takes the form of sabléism , a combination of sands cooked in pigmentary form on a canvas.

His plastic research is similar to dramatic art. His painting then turns towards expressions, looks, characters, most of his creations seek to combine aesthetics, emotion and the suggestive. Professor Kabien seeks to unify the background and the form. His drawings and paintings are a kind of speech that tends to establish a dialogue with the one who looks at them.

It is a voice whose consonants would be the reflex of long black lines on a broken class and the paint colors are vowels that would organize its artistic vocabulary. A vocabulary on original, unique and internationally invoiced corporate canvases, signed Salem Kabien.

Art Kabien Quote on his source of inspiration:

"Salon Maître Salem Kabien; It is probably impossible to give a definition of art that satisfies everyone. But, I propose the following formula, which is as good as any other: For me ART is the conscious use of skill and creativity, especially in the production of aesthetic objects. In other words, an artist must possess talent and imagination. The combination of the two makes him capable of producing a work that others will find pleasant or attractive. "It all comes down to this: having sensations and reading nature."

Because; An artist is an individual who creates work, cultivates or masters an art, knowledge, technique, and whose creativity, poetry, and originality of production, actions, and gestures are noted among other things. His works are a source of emotions, feelings, reflection, spirituality or transcendence...

This is why:

  1. “You can't do anything in art without passion.”
  2. "My mission as a painter is to give corporate art (Trademark) a permanent, human and attractive image."
  3. "No form of art can give emotion if it does not mix in a part of reality. However tiny it may be, however impalpable, this allusion, this irreducible particle is like the key to the work. It makes it readable, it illuminates its meaning, it opens its profound, essential reality to the sensitivity which is true intelligence."
  4. In truth, art is enclosed in nature; he who can extract it from it, he is a master."
  5. An artist's wealth is his talent, not his bank account.
